Everyone there is super helpful. If you're a brand new rider, like me, they will make sure you know what you need to know to get going safely. They also teach an MST course there, so that's nice.
I thought about it and the following Saturday I went back. I wanted to ride the bike and probably purchase it.
He also told me this was "for insurance purposes". I call BS. I have ridden many bikes and did many demo days.
On Saturday, November 11, 2017 I was on my way home from a car show in Perry, Ga. I saw the sign for Byron Powersports and since I am in the market for a bike, I stopped by.
I assume its a sales tactic. A very bad one if it is because it not only cost a sale but a customer who rides a lot and talks to a lot of bikers. Word of mouth advertising can be good or bad.
This dealer is among one of the top 10 dealers in the nation. They have a huge selection. They seem to get in the limited editions before some of these dealers up around Atlanta. I think it is because they sell so many in the area. Friendly and welcoming staff and great prices. We will buy here again.
I have been in sales most of my life and I will give Byron Powersports some free advice. If someone walks onto your lot and shows interest, they have already partially sold themselves on your product. All you have to do is find out what is needed to close that sale. In my case, it was a five minute test ride without strings attached.
The best part is the week before I was told the bike is 3,500 dollars and that is the price listed on their website. But this Saturday I was told the price is 4,000 dollars but "everything is negotiable".
Very professional service that might have saved my life! I took in my Honda Grom for a rear tire change and they noticed my sprockets where very worn and broken! I'm very thankful they took the time to notice this. I'm surprised my chain wasn't thrown by now. They quoted me a reasonable price to replace the sprocket and chain and I should be back on the road again soon.
The salesman came out and I told him I was just looking around. I saw a bike I liked and he got the key for me to start it. I looked at it for a few minutes, thanked him, and left.
I'm sure a lot of people are very happy and satisfied with the over all experience they have had. I would like to think they are now as good of a dealership as I once experienced. However, over a several months timeframe, 2 visits in a row and neither turned out very well. I wish them the best but, I don't plan to return anytime soon.. Nor recommend them any longer.
I drove up and the bike was still there. I got out and while I was looking at it the salesman from the week before came out. The key was in the bike so I started it again.
So I am supposed to go in, make an offer on a bike I may or may not like once I ride it, fill out paperwork, haggle price, and all of this is just so I can ride it a couple of miles? No, thanks.

We spoke for a couple of minutes and I told him I wanted to take it for a test ride. He told me I could not test ride it until I made an offer for him to take to his boss, filled out paperwork, and "got the numbers right".
